Yunnan View

For PB’s farewell, he invited the immediate family to this restaurant recommended by my mum in Jurong. The location is a bit too far for me but the food made up for it. Though the Peking duck tasted more like the usual roasted duck we have though the meat cut up for the stir fry was very tender. Deep fried cod fish in Thai sauce was excellent more cos of the crispiness of the batter.

The meal was good and every one had a good time and it is time to say GOOD BYE

Wild Rocket

After reading raving reviews about this place, and unable to get a decent dinner slot. Dinner started at 930pm, the later time actually would work if you would prefer a more intimate setting in the very small restaurant.

The bread they served was warm and fresh. The seared tuna was very fresh and not salty. The cream of broccoli was rich and creamy unlike the runny one I had a Jewel Box. The seabass was better than the striploin but that could be more of the reason that I had so much difficulty to cut the steak. The side of crunchy sweet potato was different from the usual potato wedges.

Dessert was Fondue at the Lounge at Intercontinental…..

If you’re looking for a place for a nice, quiet date or nice place in general…Wild Rockets is the place though the location is abit off. In a little hill called My Emily but reachable from Selegie Road

Jewel Box

Seriously, if this place was not en route from Sentosa. I wont go there again. For the price I paid, I din felt that it was justifiable nor was the view super enticing. They did doll up the place to be pretty nice but the food was 1 big major disappointment for me

Xmas Tree

Well, at least the walk there was not too bad

Angkor food

Siem Reap has a lot of tourist from Korea and Japan and of cos there are many places that are opened to cater to them.

So I tried Korean steamboat and Japanese mango dessert. PB got sick so we have to stick to “safe” options as he needs “cleaner” food

Banteay Srei

Banteay Srei (or Banteay Srey) is a 10th century Cambodian temple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. Located in the area of Angkor in Cambodia, at 13.59 N, 103.96667 E, it lies near the hill of Phnom Dei, 25 km (15 miles) north-east of the main group of temples that once belonged to the medieval capitals of Yasodharapura and Angkor Thom.[1] Banteay Srei is built largely of red sandstone, a medium that lends itself to the elaborate decorative wall carvings which are still observable today. The buildings themselves are miniature in scale, unusually so when measured by the standards of Angkorian construction. These factors have made the temple extremely popular with tourists, and have led to its being widely praised as a “precious gem”, or the “jewel of Khmer art.”

The East Mebon was dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva and honors the parents of the king. Its location reflects Khmer architects’ concern with orientation and cardinal directions. It was built on a north-south axis with Rajendravarman’s state temple, Pre Rup, located about 1,200 meters to the south just outside the baray. The East Mebon also lies on an east-west axis with the palace temple Phimeanakas, another creation of Rajendravarman’s reign, located about 6,800 meters due west.

Pre Rup
Pre Rup is a temple at Angkor, Cambodia, built as the state temple of King Rajendravarman and dedicated in 961 or 962. It is a temple mountain of combined brick, laterite and sandstone construction.

Located just south of the East Baray, or eastern reservoir, Pre Rup is aligned on a north-south axis with the East Mebon temple, another creation of the reign of Rajendravarman. Pre Rup was dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. Its extensive laterite and brick give it a pleasing reddish tone that is heightened by early morning and late afternoon sunlight.
