Looking back ’07, looking ahead ’08

Inflation….global warming…political turmoil in other countries…doesn’t stop me looking back 2007 with a big hearty grin.
Maybe the past few years, I never took too much notice to the time passed due to “bo-chap” or immaturity to cherishing time. I would remember 2007 much better to my 2006 though with ups and downs.
2007, I spent the first 4 months in Austin. I did some domestic travelling and fulfilled one of my dreams of counting down to 2007 in NYC’s Times Square. I also got really sick for 2 months losing my voice and blocked nose for almost 2 months of my life. I guess my tropical blood runs in me and I don’t welcome transition from winter to spring very well.I also spent time with my other “family” in Austin and played a lot with the kids.

2007, I overcame my fear for driving on the road and explored much of the roads in and around Austin. I got my Texas driving licence (part of it was also fueled due to the barred entrance to some bars on 6th street just because they don’t recognize my Singapore’s driver’s licence) I also drove 230 miles down south alone to Corpus Christi to visit a friend.

2007, I picked up baking to pass my lonely weekends in Austin and relished in my idea of having my own dominance in my own kitchen and oven. I also cooked my fair share of food to entertain different groups of friends there.

2007, I travelled alot beside USA, I went to Taiwan, Japan and Cambodia.

2007, I got to hang out with my friends after an absence of 6 months previously. I attended reunions, farewell and wedding. It feels good to keep in touch and reminiscing the times we had

2007, someone close to my heart left our family but I believe she is probably happier now in heaven after being pretty fragile for the past few year. In 2 weeks, we would be doing her rites for her 100th day of passing. With this thought, my heart felt a little sore.

2007, I realize I cherish the times I have with my co-workers. Be it in Austin or Singapore, they all play an integral part of my life. I miss the happy hours we did…I enjoy the daily breakfast and lunch sessions…..

2007, I ate alot of good food this year but I have not worked out enough to off set the fats accmulated.

Last but not least, Panda Boy. Thanks for being around (at least virtually) for the ups and downs…….2007 would not have been great without you playing a major part. Although you’re 2D for the moment but I guess the 3D days will come soon
*just like Enchanted*

With this, we bade farewell to 2007 and welcome 2008!
