Super duber long post with tons of photos…….anyway, before I start, I wish Singapore a Happy 44th Birthday!!!!

So I was some of the lucky few Singaporeans who got tickets to watch the NDP this year. The day was pretty with cloudy skies and not too much of sun. The citylink was packed in a sea of red. Passing through security was a breeze and we have to put all our cameras and cell phones into the plastic bags provided when going through the metal detector. (A pity though that they did not recycle the plastic as most people dump the new plastic at the bin provided after passing through the checks.

Singaporeans, young and old, gathered together to await to celebrate our nation’s birthday…..with the tatoos provided and waving the flags…..Some passed their times with their DS lite and many were touting Dslr of all sizes and configurations! *snap snap snap*

My seat was 1128, your inspiration of 4D??? They even provided plastic bags for us to clear our trash after the event which I duly used….I am a law abiding citizen ok

Fun pak for 2009. My bag was yellow though, I wished I got either the red or orange though.

Mr bean was also out to have some fun

Finally after 1.5hours of wait, the show startssssssssssssssssssssss

I went for the preview so all the VIPS were not there. They had some people standing in as the VIP. This young boy here is standing in as our Prime Minister….

The show started with the tale on how we got our name as the Lion City and for the SAF to showcase their potential and to remind the people that terrorism is very much part of our life and we have to be vigilant.

MAJULAH SINGAPURA, where was the last time you sang your national anthem with pride and from your heart.

I guess the economic situation should have cut the budget for the committee this year and they did an amazing job with whatever resources they had. This year’s show also used a lot of tech effects and multi media. I love the fact that the 2 huge block at the side of the screen was made up of many many boxes where the performers were strutting their stuff. The effect was great.

“You and me, we’ll do our part, stand together, heart to heart” – Lyrics from Count On Me Singapore

The show’s almost ending with eveyone on the stage

All the hearts are waving in synch
We, the citizens of Singapore pledge ourselves as one united people,
regardless of race, language or religion, to build a democratic society,
based on justice and equality, so as to achieve happiness, prosperity and progress for our nation.

The moment everyone’s waiting for…
Great job, team….and Happy Birthday, Singapore!
