Bangkok, Thailand – Day 1(a)

Arriving in Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok at about 830am with the cases, I was ready to start my BKK adventure. Immigrant was a breeze and next up was to find a cab to bring us into the city.
Arrived into the city and checked into our hotel at Novotel Siam Square. This hotel was chosen in the end as it was near to all main shopping areas verus the original cheaper alternatives I was looking (yeah, I prefer to stay at cheaper places when I travel sometimes. But this hotel was still a treat)
Address:
392/44 Siam Square Soi 6 Rama I Road Pathumwan
10330 BANGKOK THAILAND

I did not really map out or plan the trip before I headed out so the next best thing was to go to the nearest shopping complex nearby, MBK centre where you get 8 levels of shopping of a large variety of items for you to shop for. MBK is supposed to be the most visited mall in BKK.
Address:
MBK Center, 444 Payathai Rd., Patumwan, Bangkok

Deco-den is very much popular there. I thought I was in Japan!

Next up was to pamper the growling the stomach at the food court where you exchange your cash for food vouchers. Next to all the culinary stations, there was a steaming pot of hot water where you can dip your utensils in to sterilize them. (The last time something similar I saw was in Hong Kong where they put all the utensils in a hot glass of tea for the sterilization)

Menu of the day was fried rice, pad thai (only S$1.50!!), the most yummy oyster omelette I ever had, Thai chai and my favorite ripe mango with sticky rice but I wasn’t too much of a fan of the stick rice there as it was not really cooked.
