1st time to try dim sum at HT. You have to make your reservations at least 1 week in advance if you plan to go on a weekend brunch. The place was filled up by 12pm.

1st time ever to try, fish slice cheong fun.

the mango prawn fritters were really yummy.

deep fried seaweed prawn rolls

sharkfin dumpling in soup, a pity that it was not filled up to the max like the ones I had from tung lok before.
Overall, it was a nice place to have a brunch and they would continuously fill up your tea….The pricing was also reasonable. I would definitely recommend this place for their dim sum for family gathering

Besides a great brunch, I was also showered with gifts…..:D Pretty awesome day…..Thanks for the Chic-Fil-A sauce

My friend, Abraxis, thinks that I am a hello kitty fan (or trying to make me into one) Thus, I get 1 hello kitty cell phone accessory each time he visits……

1st, Hello Kitty to celebrate the Tiger Year,

2nd Hello Kitty for the summer celebrating the Gion Matsuri,

and now Hello Kitty from the Shanghai expo commemorating the future postal services….
I wonder what’s next…..probably, a Hello Kitty for the Rabbit year and I am kinda looking forward to it as it would be pink and kawaii
…so till he next visits and we would update the post accordingly.
A Girl’s want : Accessories Mirror Cabinet

Saw this recently from a Taiwanese lady’s fashion/beauty/lifestyle blog and I just feel in love with it. You can also check out the actual product from the Korean website

I thought the design was quite nifty and should be adored by most ladies (?) When closed, it is a standing mirror in a corner of your room

when you open it, you would see your ear rings hooked and arranged neatly on the left, on the right would be slots for you to stuff your bangles and rings. There are also rungs for you to hang your scarves and necklaces. There is also multi-pockets for you to put your more valued items that cannot be scratched. 2 small drawers can be found at the bottom too. I just fell in love with this when I saw it.

Too bad, I am not sure if this is sold in Singapore and until I get my own room. I just got to live with my mini zip lock bags solution (only $2 from Daiso for 60 packets) where I bag all my accessories so they would be in a tangled mess. The only problem is I need to dig through them to find something I would like to….(Sigh dreamily) This would be solved if I have this cabinet

Le Bistrot Dinner

Had been 2 years since I came to this place. This time, headed for their dinner menu.
Sorry for the crappy photos but that was the best the iphone could give….

Fresh warm bread and the service at that place was surely attentive.

We took up the set menu which could be a choice of appetizer and entrée or entrée and dessert.
For starters: Velouté d’Ail aux Escargots à la Semoule which is semolina-dusted escargots served with roasted garlic cream and parsley jus and I got to say it was really good, different from the usual way that escargots were served.

Confit de Cuisses de Canard: duck leg confit with honey-mustard vinaigrette and creamy potato purée. The duck was really soft and the skin was crispy!

Boeuf à la Bourguignonne: red wine casserole of beef shortribs with glazed vegetables and creamy potato purée. I think I still prefer steak over stewed beef anytime….Unless the stew could melt in my mouth else I just felt everything was so dry.

Tarte au Citron: lemon tart with raspberry coulis, pineapple tuille and vanilla bean ice cream. I ain’t a big dessert fan so I only had a bite and I could say that fresh lemon juice was used as it was definitely sour and the tang lemon smell was lingering.
Nice place to chill out, enjoy a slow meal and there is always options next door for your post dinner drinks

Banana Kiwi Smoothie

I am not into the raw diet, although I read this raw food blog frequently.
Currently, I do not have my own kitchen and everything in my current home kitchen is not my territory so I bet I would get those stares from my mum if I started blending stuff and cutting greens to eat like a rabbit.

So I took up the offer at work when banana kiwi smoothie was offered to me. (initially I thought it was meant as a passing remark!) Banana and kiwis brought especially from home.

Apparently, this blender is residing in someone’s desk and made appearances during some afternoons when a coffee frappe or smoothie was desired.

Here we go blending in our small pantry, bananas and kiwis with some ice from the cafeteria

I can finally understand why my fren, YM, loves her smoothies….it was really refreshing and I really felt great after drinking it….
Maybe it is time for me to explore this area, but I probably got to make sure I clean the blender at home sparkling clean in order to skip the wrath of mum
Porn’s Sexy Thai Food
13 Nov 2010 2 Comments

Pornsak, a local celebrity compere’s venture into the food industry. The name of his shop is already catchy in the sense that it was named as PORN’s……..a part of his name

The interior was simple with white painted wall with some cute drawings in some area and a definition of Porn in Thai. The place was packed to the brim even till 9pm on a weekday night as reservations is advised.

The drinks….lemon grass ice tea and I can’t remember the other one. The lemon grass drink was not bad.
The prices of the food was reasonable but the portion was small. We ordered the stir fried pork with garlic (abit too salty), deep fried tofu with thai sauce (this was good), Thai stuffed chicken wing (over fried) and seafood fried rice ( reasonable)

Tom yum seafood soup (abit sour but if you love sour spicy soup, this would be great) and Thai green curry ( abit salty but fragrant)

They package the usual phat Thai as “drunken mama fried noodles” and wrapped it in a egg omelette. This was supposed to be a little bland as they come serve with condiments for you to add in to the flavor.

A simple flutter of the eye lids
A simple blink
A lot things we take for granted but for us who we care this was just such a amazing feat.
We would still continue to pray in hope that all would get better from here.
