The Royal Mail Restaurant & Bar is a 60-seater establishment housed within the historical and culturally-rich Ascott Raffles Place and serves modern interpretations of Classic British Cuisine where Roasts and Prime Rib take centre stage. A vintage brass mail chute, which stands in its full glory by the lift lobby of the Ascott, is the inspiration for The Royal Mail concept which provides guests with a touch of Old World elegance from the days of letter-writing, Doris Day, Grace Chang and policemen in shorts.

This is a pretty new establishment and there are in the new addition for the Mar 2013 Restaurant selection.

It isn’t often I get to be in downtown area during a weekday afternoon. 2 course set lunch go for S$35++ and 3 course set lunch for S$38++

Bread served was warm and soft in the side.

New England Clam Chowder with crab souffle, charred corn, smoked paprika oiland chive yogurt cream.

Salmon croquettes with tropical fruit salsa, seaweed caviar, lemon sumac and yogurt cream.

sous-vide confit of duck leg with orange fennel, watercress salad, shallot marmalade, pearl onion, ginger and shoyu monte.

Banoffe tart with banana, toffe and cream tart served wit salted caramel sauce.

Ah, how it feels different to see from another perspective where the people below are rushing during lunch hour and I get to sneak a day off.
ps: finally playing with my 小白 (Panasonic Lumix GF2), using the Retro mode for the photos this time
