Yu Shan, Taiwan – Day 5(a)

Paid extra to the cab driver to drive us up to Yushan to watch the sunrise instead of Zhushan in Alishan. The view from Yushan is supposed to be prettier due to its higher altitude. Had to wake up at 230am to catch the 3am cab ride up to Yushan. Arrived at the sun rise spot at 445am in horror! It was all covered in FOG!

clearing up
I guess heaven heard my prayers because the fog started clearing up 10 minutes later….

Then it got better and better.

But it was still a little too cloudy to see the entire sun rise in action but I caught snippets of it.

However, the Sea clouds were really beautiful…..it was so serene to just stand there and look at the cloud moving and the movement of it is almost like liquid cotton wool flowing from the edges of the mountains.

I can’t use words to describe what I saw so I let the photos do the talking.

This is called the husband and wife tree, they were the survivors of a big fire in the vicinity in the past.
