Taipei, Taiwan – Day 8

simple breakie
Simple breakfast provided by the B&B

back in taipei
Then it was another 3 hours journey back to Taipei, the bustling city….

unimpressive lunch
Kinda ran out of ideas of where to eat so we just went to the Breeze centre on the 2nd floor of the Taipei Main station where there is a huge selection of food. Ended up at this Cantonese restaurant for lunch but bad choice…..Dim Sum is still best in Hong Kong, not in Taiwan. 😛

Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall is located in the heart of Taipei City. The area is 250,000 square meters and it is the attraction most visited by foreign tourists. Outside the gate of Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, there are poles carrying the sign of true rightness. The architecture of Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall is inspired by Tientam in Beijing. The four sides of the structure are similar to those of the pyramids in Egypt. The material is white marble. The roofs are decorated with deep-blue glass as part of the reflection of blue sky and bright sun. It adds a touch of grandeur. The garden is planted with red flowers. As a whole, the colors of blue, white and red express the National Flag and the spirit of freedom, equality and brotherhood.

As usual, by a stroke of good timing, we met with the change of guard performance.

hello kitty sweets cafe
Although we were stuffed full from the not so nice lunch, we still made our way towards the super cute Hello Kitty Sweets cafe.

hello kitty wares
The place is not lacking in the mouthless kitten’s merchandise….

kitty overload
Overwhelmed with everything kitty…hello hello….

do you have a sweet tooth?
We were there on a Saturday afternoon and the place was full, so make your reservations in advance. We kind of went there at 4pm for the afternoon but there was a minimum charge order of NT300 per person. It was a little difficult to decide when we were so full and a little difficult to put the cake into my mouth because it was so cute 🙂

toilet
Even the toilet was decked with fluff and pink
