The Paramount Restaurant Lunch Buffet

As part of the birthday month eat outs, 1 of the food choices was the ala carte lunch buffet offered by the Tung Lok group for 1 of their restaurant. Each pax is $33.80 ++

Chef’s Special Recommendations: Limited to only 1 serving person.
1. Beijing Roasted Duck (served with Spring Onions, Cucumber and Sweet Sauce), Limited to two slices per person
2. Live Prawns (Limited to 100g per person)
3. Mini Buddha Jumps Over The Wall

** My take? Do not have high expectations, eat it with a pinch of salt. Be thankful that they actually did offer you this 😛

Appetizers: Vegetarian Rolls, Salmon Sashimi. Century Eggs with Pickled Ginger, Sliced Pig’s Trotter with Jelly Fish, Deep-fried Calamari with Salted Pepper and Crisp-fried stuffed Dough Fritters coated with Mayonnaise

** The Century eggs and calamari were a disappointment. The eggs were not fresh and barely ate much squid. Thumbs up to the sliced pork trotter with Jelly fish as it was really flavorful.

Mains: Barbecued Combination, Sautéed Scallops with Celery, Deep-fried Marble Goby Fish with Chef’s Special Sauce, Sweet and Sour Pork Ribs, Steamed Dory Fish with Garlic, Sautéed Lettuce with Preserved Beancurd, Crispy Soft Shell Crab with Salted Pepper in X.O. Sauce

** The main entrées were in another different league as they tasted great.

Desserts: Herbal Jelly served with Honey, Chilled Sago Cream with Honeydew, Chilled Almond Beancurd with Longan, Konnyyaku Jelly, Glutinous Dumplings
with Sesame Filling, Sesame Balls with Peanut Filling and Ice-cream Puff

** We paid for a buffet but did not eat much of the entrées but checked out every single item off the dessert man and re-orders. Glutinous dumplings with sesame filling were like mochis with sesame and it was really good that we asked more and more.
