Tokyo, Japan – Day 3

Brunch made for Sunday.

Then took the Keiyou Line to Chiba area.

The main reason for this trip was for me to don a kimono to catch some nice sakura photos.

early bloom sakura
Alas, the sakuras were late in blooming this year and so only these early blooming type was blooming.

lcd vending
Discovered the new LCD vending machine and played around with it.

seafood bbq
Late Dinner was at Torohako (トロ函), a really popular seafood BBQ place in the neighbourhood. The whole place was packed with people.

Ordered scallops, it was really fun to watch it slowly open up to you to reveal the big piece of flesh.

flower crab miso soup
The flower crab was very fresh and this bowl of crab miso was about 399JPY.

shell fish bbq
Some shell fish with a slice of butter and bbq on the scallop shells. It was really very fragrant.

bbq prawns
Giant prawns sprinkled with salt.

fish bbq
Fish slices to be BBQ.

fried oysters
Deep fried oysters, it was fresh!

roe and uni sushi
I was amazed that how much salmon roe and sea urchin they put it up on the sushi.

It was a fulfilling meal and I understand why the place was packed with people. Reasonable price, fresh seafood and nothing beats this on a cold day! Ending the meal with some Hoppy…
