Izu, Japan – Day 4(b)

Planned a day trip to a onsen, not all onsens accept day trip guests so always do your homework to check which are the ones that would accept day trips. There are different types of day trip onsen which accept walk in guests who are just there to take the baths or some that have packages for 2pm – 9pm with a private room and dinner included. I choose this place quite randomly and selected it as there was shuttle bus service from Izukoen Station and it was opened by DHC. DHC arakawa onsen charges 1200JPY on weekdays and 1600JPY for weekends and holidays. The place was thronging with day trippers on that day as it was a public holiday in Japan that day. No time limitation after entrance.

View of the coast that could be seen when you are soaking in the hot baths.

The place was so crowded so no photos inside. Here’s some snaps of the view when you soak in the baths. Photo credits to DHC onsen.

After a quick soak, headed to the inhouse restaurant…..lobster don for 2200JPY.

There was a big resting area where most people were lying around napping or reading after a relaxing soak.

There was a big DHC store at the entrance and most of the items were going for 20-30% so of course it was a big haul 😛

@BB: I chanced upon it too….sushi san thought it was an extravagant lunch, but I figure 2200Â¥ is not that expensive for 1 lobster… We don’t get that price in sg… Yeah! Wait till I post my hauls…. I literally grabbed the items off the shelves as I only had 8 mins before my connecting shuttle came ;p
