Yuzawa Echigo, Japan – Day 8(b)

Yuzawa in Niigata Prefecture is one of the largest and the most easily accessed ski areas from Tokyo. You can be on the slopes from Tokyo Station in under two hours. Yuzawa is known for deep powder and a long season, with some of its resorts open from mid November to late May.

Japan Guide

Alas, it was raining the day when we visited so different from the sunny skies we had in Tokyo.

Still get to see pretty flower along the way even though the temperatures were low.

Yuzawa Kogen Ropeway which is one of the largest cable car in the world that can hold up to 166 people. 2 way trip cost 1500JPY.

The view going up. Isn’t it pretty?

Upon arrival, a shuttle bus would shuttle visitors up the slope to the main restaurant for lunch

As the rain was coming down hard, so we had to take the bus as it was too cold to walk. The fog came in fast too.

Food from the main hall, simple bento sets and warm room to hide out.
