We upgraded our last 2 nights in Bhutan to stay in the famed Uma by COMO Paro which is about 15 minutes drive to the Paro airport.
Uma by COMO, Paro, is an intimate, 29-room resort featuring the most exclusive private villas in Bhutan with an enviable location in the Paro Valley. This puts you within striking distance of the country’s great cultural landmarks. The style combines local artisanship with COMO’s contemporary style, while activities range from yoga to Himalayan camping adventures. Our Bukhari restaurant is a royal favourite.
Upon arrival, we were ushered to the lounge to take a rest and served with some warm ginger tea while we wait for our keys.
The courtyard, definitely nice to chill in the cool mountain air.
Bukhari restaurant, where you can get a panaroma view of the Paro valley.
The hotel bar, where the closing time is only when the last guest leaves!
Besides complimentary yoga at 7am in the mornings, there is daily traditional Bhutan archery and darts experience for guests.
We had booked a deluxe room for our stay but as the the hotel is renovating some of the rooms during the August low season so some reservations would get upgraded. We were lucky to be upgraded to the next category.
Which would be their villa! Thee stand alone villas are scattered around the area and the guests of the villa would have their own in house personal butler too.
The villa has a living room.
Where welcome snacks were there waiting for us.
A small dining area with home grown fruits from their own garden and orchard.
With a lounger where you can open the window and look out to the lunch green garden.
The huge walk in bathroom.
Really huge isn’t it? Yoga mats are also provided if you join their yoga class.

Work out studio.
the female changing room with lounger that allow you to relax after your gym session or swim.
The indoor heated pool where we took a leisurely swim after our long trek after Tiger’s Nest.
