River Safari Singapore

River Safari

River Safari is the newest addition to Wildlife Reserves Singapore’s portfolio of award-winning parks. Nestled between Singapore’s two award-winning wildlife parks – Singapore Zoo and Night Safari – River Safari offers an unforgettable adventure inspired by the world’s most iconic rivers. This $160-million attraction features state-of-the-art exhibit design, Southeast Asia’s largest panda exhibit as well as the world’s largest freshwater aquarium. Housing one of the world’s largest collections of freshwater fauna, the park features over 5,000 animals including 42 endangered species. And that includes Singapore’s resident giant pandas, Kai Kai and Jia Jia.

This was the main reason why we were at the North part of Singapore so early on a Sunday morning! We were all off to check our the latest addition to our Singapore zoo and tourist attraction (Somehow, I have become a “tourist” in my own country)

River Safari
You can come almost up close with the animals, birds and fishes since they are just a “glass panel” away from you since most of the creatures housed in this park are mainly animals found in the rivers.

Of course, not to forget the main stars of the new park, Kai kai and Jia Jia, the giant pandas which were gifted to us from China.

River Safari
The food prepared for the pandas daily.

River Safari
Only managed to catch the looks of 1 panda as the other panda was too shy to make an appearance.

River Safari
It looks kinda of bored, maybe wondering why there was such a big crowd of people holding cameras snapping it non stop.

River Safari
Damn, it is soooooooooooooo boring….who are these people?

River Safari
Another panda, The red panda.

River Safari
Too bad the Amazon river cruise is not ready till the end of the year if not it would have been more fun….

River Safari
The next interesting site would be the Squirrel Monkey Forest where the monkeys are climbing up the trees freely and really close to the visitors. DO NOT walk touching the railings as IT BELONGS to the monkeys as they would jump up and down as they like.

River Safari
We were there when it was feeding time so it was a little overwhelming to see so many tiny monkeys suddenly appearing and climbing out in all possible attraction towards where the food was.

River Safari
It would had been better if we could get to take the Amazon cruise ride but too bad it ain’t ready yet so so long, till the next time 🙂
