Tokyo Tower

Tokyo Tower

With 333 meters, Tokyo Tower (東京タワー) is 13 meters taller than its model, the Eiffel Tower of Paris, and the world’s tallest self-supporting steel tower. It was completed in the year 1958 as a symbol for Japan’s rebirth as a major economic power, and serves as a television and radio broadcast antenna and tourist attraction.

Our view was a little marred when we were up since they were doing re-painting works but the maintenance works has since been completed so visitors should get to see a complete view now

On certain days you can take the stairs up to Tokyo Tower but on certain days you can walk down so it really depends on the weather that you visit. If you are up to challenge 600 steps 🙂

Tokyo Tower
With the opening of Tokyo Skytree, we can observe that the number of visitors have decreased but I grew up watching Japanese dramas with love scenes revolving around the Tokyo Tower so I have a soft spot towards this Tokyo icon. Even though most of the new dramas now would dramatically open their episodes with a view of the Tokyo Skytree…..How about you readers? Tokyo Tower or Tokyo Skytree?
