[Cultural Exchange] Japanese rice cake making Event

[Throwback] In the 1st week of December, the school would usually hold the Japanese rice cake making ceremony (餅つき大会) for the overseas students.

They even invite the junior sumos over to help create the mochi which would be even more chewy if you pound it with strength.

It was a cold late autumn day but the sumos have to strip down to their sumo wear for this event.

Followed by the mochis made on the spot with 3 flavors – peanut, red bean and the soy sauce with seaweed.

    OMG – the poor sumo dudes had to hang around the festival in just their loin cloths!! LOL!! Poor things…

    @BB: yeah, it was cold that day…..but I think they have enough fats to keep them warm and they were working out pounding the mochi so should be ok? 😛
