40 minutes west of from Shinjuku is a very big and pretty park with lots of nature. They have all types of plants, flowers and trees. Currently, they have the Spring Flower festival currently.
Upon walking in, we see a large open space which we thought was already the entrance to the park but it isn’t.
To get to the park entrance, it was another 15 minutes walk away. But it was a beautiful sight as we crossed the bridge with pink sakura trees beneath us.
The trees are still bald.
Seniors sitting around enjoying the warm Spring weather
Met a super hyper dog that kept on standing on his hind legs. Almost seem that he is dancing away.
Entering the park via the Tachikawa Park entrance.
A small and pretty fountain at entrance.
Though the stream is dry but we see a huge color array of pink, yellow and greens.
Boats are for rental at the lake.
Bicycles for rental too for you to go around their cycling tracks.
Don’t this tree remind you of the Big Fish movie?
The sakuras in bloom here.
The sakuras here bloom about 1 week later than the ones in Tokyo city.
Besides the usual hanami and dog walking, people were playing with bubbles.
Walking to the different flower patches to take photo.
Couples were there for a date too.
Enjoying their hanami.
Video of the day with music.
Sakuras are very pretty in full bloom but there is another beauty when the petals fall in mass into the river. Covering the river with pink petals.
Almost like a blanket of pink that I won’t believe that it is actually a stream.
Flowers from the flower festival but probably need a few more days for it to bloom fully.
