Hashida Udon, Roppongi (はし田本店 六本木)

はし田本店
[Throwback May] Lunch date with Beautybox at this famous handmade udon place in Roppongi. It was lucky thing that we made reservations since we had a baby in tow too. The place was full house when we arrived for lunch. Walk-ins are also available but you probably have to wait if you arrive during the lunch peak time.

はし田本店
For reservations, we have to go for their 3000JPY lunch course set. First up was the appetiser of seasame oil shredded chicken, pumpkin mash and crab miso with bruschetta.

はし田本店
Light but fully flavored vegetable and chicken stew. What I love about Japanese meals is that simple ingredients are just created so exquisitely and you don’t feel guilty if you eat too much. (I mean, how much can you put on with eating a lot of non oily vegetables and meat? :))

はし田本店
Oops, that’s where the guilt comes from. Deep fried chicken.

はし田本店
our friend’s dipping sesame sauce udon. Really popular with ladies as it is light and refreshing.

はし田本店
Beautybox and I promptly decided that we wanted the FISHBALL udons. We were so high with the thought of FISHBALLS! (We do miss our fishballs in Singapore) and surprised with our “flat balls”. It was actually Japanese fish cakes udon. A little disappointed not seeming our white bouncy round fishballs but we still dug into this bowl of udon. The Japanese fish cake was surprisingly great.

はし田本店
My bowl of fishball cold udon. You can choose between hot or cold udon soup.

はし田本店
Lime sherbet for dessert. Refreshing after a full meal. As we had a room to ourselves so we had a good long lunch with no interruptions from the bustling restaurant right outside. We were the last to leave the place when they closed after lunch.

Cutie Pie
Maybe cos this little cutie had charmed all the ladies in the room and the servers serving us? Can’t wait to see them when they return from their NYC trip.

Memories of a really fun and delicious lunch. Big love for udon…yummy in my tummy. The “fishball” slices were so savoury and tasty. We should totally go back! And always enjoy pix of lil C 😉
