An Afternoon in Ebisu – Matsugen (松玄) / Mercer Bis

Matsugen Ebisu
Checking out the lunch scene in another unexplored area – Ebisu. (Famous for their Ebisu Beers, even the music used at this station is the music of the Ebisu beer TV ad.)

Lunch was at this famous handmade soba place famous for their freshly made soba.

Though their fried chicken soba with tuna rice set was delicious too.

Originally we wanted to have our dessert at this popular tiny Japanese shaved ice place but they had really limited seats and we didn’t want to stand in the heat to eat so we had to make a pass but for those who managed to get a seat was enjoying their ice…..(pull hair)

Mercer Ebisu
So we took another 10 minutes walk down and found ourselves at this cafe which was a branch of Mercer Brunch

Mercer Ebisu
But this cafe mainly served chiffon cakes instead of french toast.

A small and cosy place to chill-lax

Their cake was a huge slice which was considered as huge for Japanese standard. Alot of Japanese ladies were here for lunch too.
