[Throwback May] The whole family headed there for Mum’s birthday and mother’s day celebration. Been a couple of months since the whole family went out for a big dinner.
I was totally excited cos this is the first time I came to a Robuchon eatery, even though we were at his more causal seating restaurant.
Everything was red and black in the restaurants so it was quite “dark”
But the vegetable preservatives displays were really nice and added a feel that you would be served bright and fresh food later.
My mum told me to stuff myself with their bread, apparently they went there last year and liked it so much that they bought some home for next day’s breakfast.
First served would L’AMUSE-BOUCHE to clear your taste buds with a refreshing beetroot mousse and to hype you up on the food in store.
Our choices of appetisers – smoked salmon salad.
Crab salad with grilled radish
Cold cut meat
Grilled white asparagus salad.
Chicken broth with foie gras ravioli and fresh herbs, a little too peppery.
Western style “xiao long bang”?
The stewed red wine beef cheek was delicious, but maybe it was because I have a penchant for soft melt in the mouth meat.
Cod fish in dashi, inspired by the Japanese dish.
Additional cost can be topped up for the dessert plate where you can choose a few types of cakes but since we already placed our order for dessert so we passed.
Actually I can’t remember the names of the desserts so I would let the photos do the explanation themselves. Dessert menus change over time so these desserts might not be on the menu by the time I publish this post 😛
